Hazard Perception Test
Next after a short break is the Hazard Perception part of the test, this is a series of 14 video clips of about 1 minute each taken on real roads. The test will measure the way you respond to developing hazards, these are hazards that will make you slow down and or change direction. There are 15 score able hazards in total, so one of the clips will contain 2 developing hazards. Your response will be measured and recorded when you click the computer mouse button, the earlier you spot the hazard the higher your score. The maximum score available for each hazard is 5 the lowest being 1.
Just like in real world, you'll only get one chance to respond to each of the developing hazards, so in this section you won't be able to review your answers. The pass mark in this section is 44 out of 75.
Please note you will need to pass both parts of the test at one sitting as they come together to form one test, if you fail either part then both parts will need to be retaken at your next test.
The end of the test
When you've finished the test you can leave the room and the test centre staff will give you your result in about 10 minutes.
