The Off Road Site

The first thing you notice is the sheer size of the area marked out for the test course; It's 125 metres by 40 metres (which is about an acre or one and a half football pitches), We set out the 78 coloured cones it takes to mark out the course.

This really does give you a feel of the sheer scale of the area, it's quite intimidating even for an experienced rider/instructor; how it will feel to a student who sees it for the first time on his/her test day, enclosed in a ten-foot fence remains to be seen.

We took the opportunity to walk the course first to familiarise ourselves, not something you'll be able to do on your test day, there will be no time for that.
