Probike Motorcycle Training Staff | DSA & ROSPA Approved Instructors
Bill
Company director, he is a fully qualified DSA approved instructor, brought up in Chester he now lives in Connah's Quay, he holds a Rospa advanced riding certificate Gold award and the coveted Rospa Diploma in advanced riding instruction. Bill enjoys track days, and can still get his knee down with the best of them, just takes a few days to recover since his hip replacement (joke!!!). He has been riding for many years, and has only been hospitalised for a small percentage of that time. Ask him about his party piece! He currently owns an MV Augusta 1000 and a RSV Factory R; he really does like his toys!!
Stewie
Company director, grew up locally in the village of Northop and now lives in Mold, he holds the Rospa Gold award in advanced riding, and is a fully qualified DSA instructor. A member of the new DSA approved Register of Post Test Motorcycle Trainers (RPMT); he is one of the few instructors in the area who can deliver training under the new Enhanced Rider Scheme. He too enjoys track days, but insists that the gravel at Redgates, Donington Park is magnetized! Strangely so is the Armco at the Nurburgring!! Cars are attracted to his rear end, so there could be something in the magnetic thing? He currently owns a Suzuki GSXR 1000.
Steve
Steve was born in Mancot, grew up in Buckley and now lives in Shotton, Deeside. He is a fully qualified DSA instructor, and our master of all trades. An ex plod, fitness instructor, engineer, yes a man of many talents plus he's a great little mover on the dance floor. Steve comes from a bike riding and racing family and has been riding for donkey's years, (he lies about his age too). Favourite song, I fought the law, and the law won (not!). He rides a Husqvarna supermoto, and is a huge fan of most kinds of racing especially Moto GP and supermoto. He wore a yellow Rossi t-shirt and hat at Donington Moto GP, which was great because the flies loved the colour, and it kept them off us!! Fancies himself as a part time catalogue model, a bit of a poser.
Chas
Chas was born in Weaverham near Northwich Cheshire and now lives in Afonwen just outside Mold, he is a fully qualified DSA instructor. Big Chas! Here's a tip, hide all food, and if he finds any mind your fingers! The man loves his grub. He is a bit of a kleptomaniac with a love of bike keys. Chas rides a Pan European, with which he has been all over Europe. He's just taken delivery of his second KTM enduro bike of which he's very proud. Hope this one lasts longer than the first one he had!! After a very short flirtation, he threw it down a mountain in Spain. He is an expert at filling out CBT certificates (sarcasm is a wonderful thing). He recently passed his test to drive coaches. Enjoys his Saturday ritual of fish and chips.
Cockney Stu
CBT and part II instructor he born in Kent he now lives in Northop Hall. Stu would rather ride on the grass at the Nurburgring, and says it saves on tyres plus he likes the scenery. He likes his cars and currently owns a Audi A3 sport. Stu rides an RSVR Mille, which is his pride and joy. He has a few strange habits; he paints the weeds in the garden at night wearing marigolds, and shreds his bedding with the flymo. Hey, it takes all sorts. He likes crisps in assorted flavours.
Yvonne
Yvonne looks after the running of the offices. Brought up in Chester and now lives in Ellesmere Port, she came to do her lessons and test with us, and stayed! She currently owns a Kawasaki Z750. Nicknamed P45 or Dory (see finding Nemo), she has been called 'scathing' but believes if you give it you should be prepared to take it! She is the mistress of the ace delivery - the quip of no return. She is a brunette (albeit chemically assisted), with very blonde moments, and is currently in the process of training to be an instructor so look out boys!!
Frankie
Frankie was born in High Wycombe Buckinghamshire, now lives in Denbigh. He is a fully qualified DSA instructor; joined us in early 2007 and is the baby of the group, he currently owns a Kawasaki Z750. An ex forces tank driver/repairer who has a strange habit of trotting everywhere, he reckons it's to keep fit but we're not really convinced. Recently had an addition to the family and is the proud father to the most gorgeous little girl who's definitely going to break a few hearts including his. He has the biggest butty box known to man, which he empties with gusto!! A proficient yoghurt lid licker.
Donald
Donald (Don) brought up in Manchester is now a resident of Christleton, Chester. He is currently the newest of our CBT and part II instructors. A biker since he was 16, nobody's really sure how old he is. Born in the 1st half of the previous century he spent many years buying British bikes, trying to save the industry, before succumbing to the lure of Nippon. An amiable soul who's always on the lookout for a bargain. He spent 33 years working for Shell and his favourite colour is blue (he collects £20 notes!). Favourite saying is "outside of a dog a book is a man's best friend. Inside a dog it's too dark to read". A real team player he's very adept at putting out and collecting training cones, and is the best bin emptier we have ever had.
Jason
Jason was born in Little Sutton on the Wirral and now lives in Mynydd Isa near Mold. In the early part of 2007 Jason approached us with a view to us training him as a motorcycle instructor. The company he worked for was in trouble and needed to make some of the work force redundant, as part of the redundancy package the government were offering financial help to pay for vocational retraining. Jason decided to leave and begin his training and has been working with us four days a week ever since, he is now fully qualified DSA instructor. A demon with the camera, if he has it with him, Beware!! The company milkman whose idea of fun is flying kites on the horseshoe pass wearing speedos, it was sunny honest!! Currently runs a RSV Mille R.
Derek
Derek was born in Dublin, moved to the UK and grew up in Birmingham. He's had a varied working life, he started out as a design draughtsman in iron foundries then moved to the aerospace industry where he was a process engineer, he's also spent time in customer service management. This has taken him all over the country; he's lived in Crewe, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield and Redditch west midlands. In 2007 he moved Rhyl North Wales and joined us full time in early 2008. He has been a fully qualified DSA instructor since 1994 and in 1997 trained as an observer with the IAM. His first bike at the age of 15 was a Honda cub 50cc and he currently rides a Yamaha XJ900S Diversion.
