CBT Training & The ‘CBT Test’
CBT is a motorbike training course – there’s no actual “CBT Test”, it’s an enjoyable training course usually completed over a single day.
On the road to gaining a full motorcycle licence all learner riders must first take a Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) course. This was introduced in 1990 to try and curb the high accident rate amongst young riders. Despite the severity of the course it is not a test and our instructors strive to provide a relaxed and fun atmosphere at all times.
Our team of expert instructors have great experience in delivering CBT training, and you can read all about them here.
125cc & 400cc Motorcycle Training
Anybody over the age of 17 can begin training for a full motorcycle licence after completing their CBT. Over 17’s can take a “A1” Full
Licence Motorcycle Training course, and after completing it will be able to ride a motorcycle up to 125cc on the motorway and with a passenger.
If you are over the age of 19 then you can train on 400cc motorcycles via our “A2” Direct Access course (over 19’s) and “A” Direct Access course (over 24’s). After gaining the licences from these courses learners will be able to ride a 400cc motorcycle on the motorway and again with passengers.
Benefit from high-quality motorcycle training, including direct access courses, CBT training/CBT test near me with ProBike MCT.
DAS – The Direct Access Course
The Direct Access Course is our most popular training course! Quite simply it allows riders over the age of 24 to directly access 600cc bikes for their training. After gaining the licence from this training riders will be able to use motorbikes of any size on any road. We do, however, not recommend buying a 1000cc super bike as a first bike, it is much more sensible to stick with a similar bike that you trained on (around 600cc).
Motorcycle Theory Test
Your compulsory Motorcycle Theory Test can be taken at the test centre of your choice and in the language of your choice. At ProBike we will provide you with all the training and guidance that you require in order to complete your theory test to the best of your ability.
The test consists of a multiple choice test wich is taken on a computer and a Hazard Perception Test. The Hazard Perception Test requires you to identify a number of potential road hazards from a series of video clips filmed on actual roads.
You require a pass rate of 43 out of 50 for the multiple choice test and a pass rate of 44 out of 75 for the Hazard Perception Test.
Quality training leads to safe & successful riding. For motorcycle lessons from quality instructors, call ProBike MCT on 01244 822 151.
Moped & Scooter Training
At ProBike we offer a Moped and Scooter Training course for anybody over the age of 16. We believe this can be ideal in setting a foundation for your riding skills before you start riding on motorcycles.
Advanced Motorbike Training
To gain a more authentic riding experience away from our test centre we recommend our Advanced Motorbike Training Course. This course is ideal for building on all the skills that you have obtained during our other training courses. It is also popular as it is performed as a one-to-one session with one of our tutors, this means we can easily cater for your every need.
