CBT Training & The ‘CBT Test’
CBT is a motorbike training course – there’s no actual “CBT Test”, it’s an enjoyable training course usually completed over a single day.
Introduced in 1990 Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is an obligatory course that all young riders must take before they can begin training for a full licence. CBT was introduced to try and curb the high accident rate among the young rider population, therefore the course mostly details safety techniques and foundation motorcycling skills.
Our off road training centre is the largest in the local area and we also have a group of qualified instructors waiting to help you. For this reason there is no better place, locally, for all your CBT needs.
125cc & 400cc Motorcycle Training
Once you have completed your CBT and gained your theory certificate you will be eligible to begin training for a full motorcycle licence.
To participate in our “A1” Full Motorcycle Licence you must be over the age of 17. This course will coach you on low powered bikes (up to 125cc) until you are ready to take your “A1” licence test.
If you are over the age of 19 you can participate in our Category “A1” Direct Access Training (19+) and our Category “A” Direct Access Training (24+). In both of these courses you will learn on medium powered bikes of at least 395cc and with an engine power of at least 33 bhp. Once you have gained your licence you will be able to ride a motorcycle of no more than 400cc.
Benefit from high-quality motorcycle training, including direct access courses, CBT training/CBT test near me with ProBike MCT.
DAS – The Direct Access Course
By taking the Direct Access Course anybody over the age of 24 can train for their full “A” motorcycle licence on high powered machines. This is beneficial to you as you’ll be training on the same style of bike that you will encounter on the road after passing your test.
Once you have passed this training course and your subsequent full “A” motorcycle licence you will be able to ride a bike of any size and power. We do, however, not recommend buying a 1000cc super bike as your first big bike.
Motorcycle Theory Test
As mentioned before you must take and complete your Motorcycle Theory Test before you can begin training for any motorcycle licence. The theory test can be taken at the test centre of your choice and in a choice of languages.
The test is a follows:
Theory Test: A multiple choice test with a pass rate of 43 out of 50
Hazard Perception Test: A video analysis section with a pass rate of 44 out of 75
We will provide you extensive training for your theory test.
Quality training leads to safe & successful riding. For motorcycle lessons from quality instructors, call ProBike MCT on 01244 822 151.
Moped & Scooter Training
Our Moped and Scooter Training will give anybody above the age of 16 valuable skills on these vehicles. The beauty of this is that the skills you learn can be transfered if you start full motorcycle training, this should ease your transition from mopeds to motorcycles.
Advanced Motorbike Training
Once you have gained a full motorcycle licence you have two options if you wish to carry on training with us.
First of all you can take a Motorcycle Refresher Course if you haven’t been out on your bike in a while.
Secondly you can take our Advanced Motorbike Training course. This course is designed to help ease your transition from off road to on road by giving you valuable experience on the roads of North Wales.
