CBT Training Course
This is something that all aspiring riders must take – the CBT is a compulsory training course and a full introduction to motorcycling.
To gain a foundation in motorbike riding and safety you must take a course in CBT before taking any of our more advanced courses. This
course is not a test and is a relaxed day session carried out by a team of our expert instructors (read more about them here!).
At ProBikeMCT we have the largest off road motorcycle training facility in the local area, so we really are the perfect place to begin your Motorbike Training.

If you want to read what our past learners say about our courses before choosing one you can view our testimonials section.
Anybody over the age of 17 can begin training for a full motorcycle licence, however, there are different options available to you if you are over 19 or over 24. The courses listed below show what type of licence you will be training for and what size of bike you will be able to ride after passing your test.
Over 17’s – “A1” Full Licence Motorbike Training (up to 125cc)
Over 19’s – “A2” Direct Access Training (up to 400cc)
Over 24’s – “A” Direct Access Training (up to 400cc)
Benefit from high-quality motorcycle training, including direct access courses, CBT training/CBT test near me with ProBike MCT.
Direct Access Training Course (DAS)
If you are over the age of 24 you can also start training on large bikes (up to 600cc). This is beneficial as it gives you experience of the style of bike you will encounter on the roads after passing your test. After completing this course and gaining your licence you will be able to ride a bike of any size or power, for your first bike we do recommend sticking around the 600cc mark though.
Please note before taking any of the above courses you must have a valid CBT certificate, and have passed your theory test (see below).
The Motorcycle Theory Test
The Motorcycle Theory Test is a crucial step that any trainee rider must take. It consists of a multiple choice test (pass mark 43 out of 50) and a hazard perception test (pass mark 44 out of 75). You must pass both elements at the same time to gain your theory certificate.
At ProBike we will train you up on all the different elements of the theory, these include the highway code, typical questions, and hazard perception training. We will provide training on site and provide you with training material that you can take and use at home.
Our number one aim is to make you feel as comfortable and as prepared as possible when it comes to taking your theory test.
Quality training leads to safe & successful riding. For motorcycle lessons from quality instructors, call ProBike MCT on 01244 822 151.
Local Moped & Scooter Training
We can provide Local Moped & Scooter Training to anybody over the age of 16. This is ideal if you want to gain a foundation in riding before you are of the age to begin training for a full motorcycle licence.
Advanced Motorbike Training
After gaining your full licence you can brush up on your skills via our Advanced Motorbike Training course. This course is popular amongst our past members as it provides you with a unique experience away from our off road training centre. By riding along the scenic roads of North Wales you will gain invaluable experience that you can take with you to help you develop as a rider.
