Category ‘A2’ full licence training.
This option is open to all riders of 19 years and over, riders over 24 years of age also have the full category “A” Direct Access as an option.
The practical tests will be taken on a bike of at least 395cc with an engine power of at least 33 bhp (25 kW) but not exceeding 46.6 bhp (35 kW).
A power to weight ratio not exceeding 0.2kW/kg and not derived from a vehicle of more than double its power.
A2 Direct AccessThe candidate must be 19 years of age and have a valid CBT and theory test certificate and take both Module 1 and 2 practical tests.
Staged Full A licenceThe candidate must be at least 21 years of age and have held an A2 licence for a minimum of 2 years. DSA Module 1 and 2 600cc retests will be required.
A valid theory test certificate is always required before taking the first practical motorcycle test and unless taking the progressive access route, a valid theory test certificate is required before taking any subsequent practical motorcycle tests.
What Could You Ride? Get the ‘Big Bike’ Experience!
Looking for your A2 licence? Well now you can with the full on big bike experience!
For all 19 to 24 year olds (or anybody regardless of age), if you’re out there look to pass your A2′ licence, you’ll pleased to know that here at ProBike you can do this with a full-on ER650 experience.
We have just acquired and converted some of our Kawasaki ER650N motorcycles to 47BHP to comply with the ‘A2’ Direct Access requirements. This will allow you to complete your training and test on full-size bikes.
So if and when the time comes for you to upgrade to a Full category “A” licence you will be safe in the knowledge that have already completed the process on the full-size bikes!
This should save you time and money and having ridden both 47BHP and full power versions we can tell you there is hardly any difference!
